The possum is quite distinctive with the swishy trail it leaves and its splayed paw prints that look like a star anise seed. I would love to get one of those critter/trail cams if I can find one that is not too expensive and set it up outside to see what comes by at night.Mike Silviushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10406468736304441962noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4229172837911249933.post-43735109652342271472015-01-14T15:00:05.202-05:002015-01-14T15:00:05.202-05:00No snow here yet to speak of. They have been expanding their range and have been moving north steadily. So perhaps in another 100 years or so they'll make it to Alaska. Though they are hardly suited for the cold. Most of the ones I see around here have frostbitten tails and ears. They only last about 3 years in this weather.Mike Silviushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10406468736304441962noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4229172837911249933.post-75888993780575420002015-01-14T07:50:59.787-05:002015-01-14T07:50:59.787-05:00Yes I thankfully none of the critters around here ...Yes I thankfully none of the critters around here are quite as deadly as yours. We don't even have poisonous snakes here. Biggest danger here is rabies. Thankfully opossums are immune to rabies. Occasionally we have a visiting skunk with a leaky gland.Mike Silviushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10406468736304441962noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4229172837911249933.post-60548799060885952132015-01-14T04:58:05.395-05:002015-01-14T04:58:05.395-05:00I try not to look too closely at the tracks in the...I try not to look too closely at the tracks in the sand around the cottage, I'd get nervous about turning the generator off at night!Hippohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09468795398813061897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4229172837911249933.post-55346561981535139522015-01-13T22:46:40.208-05:002015-01-13T22:46:40.208-05:00Hi Mike, good to have wildlife company, eh?
