  1. That's great and some great pictures!
I was mad on a motorbike when I was younger, worries me now as I know mine will want one and I know we all get a bit crazy behind the handlebars! I never trusted myself on the road though, Always thought I'd get killed!

    1. Hey Kev, yes its a wonder we survived those times at all. I know I had quite a few close calls. There were a lot of kids in the neighborhood that did not make it. Lost my nerve about twenty five years ago and gave my last bike away. Its a good thing I suppose.

  2. My bike was a Honda XL. I always wanted a Bultaco or a JAWA...

    1. Yea the Honda singles were the first to go four stroke. Sweet running engine. Montesa saw the writing on the wall with the enviro-crap rules imposed in 1975 and knew as a small basque manufacturer they were doomed. In order to hold on to the lead position in the Trials market they joined forces with Honda to produce engines and market the bikes through their agents. They are the only one of the whole bunch from that time to survive more or less intact. Bultaco shut its doors for good. Years later someone revived the name as Sherco but they are not the same bikes at all.
