OK yea I know It has been a while since I posted anything. Simply put there has not been anything worthy to post about lately. Just not much going on. Can't even bitch about the weather as it has been a fairly snow-less winter. This time last year we had eight foot snow banks. Right now we have bare lawn. Got to love that. I even got the winter road sand blown of the lawn yesterday.
So over the weekend we got all antsy about fixing up the house again and I tore into the kitchen today.
The general plan is to move the stove from the inside wall on the right to left side by the window so that I can have a proper stove extractor vent on the outside wall. So this afternoon I took down the upper cabinet, tore the L off the counter and salvaged the end cabinet and the Lazy Susan out of the corner.
And discovered multiple layers of drywall and flooring. The stove will go just to the right of the window.
Eventually the two layers of 3/8th inch drywall are coming off and I will put up new drywall.
By six pm I had it all back to a usable state after temporarily relocating the cabinets and the counter I cut off. Tomorrow I will try and put a T on the gas supply line for the Rinay heater that right now is just to the left of the table. Then I can relocate the stove to the new space I made for it and then I can take down the wall between the kitchen and the living room where the stove currently is.
For clarification I have added some drawings.
This is the current lay out of things
The wall between the kitchen and the living room is gone and in place is an open counter we can use instead of a table. Eventually the bathroom will also get relocated so we can have a direct entry to the bath from the bedroom. This way I can build a new bathroom while we still have the use of the existing one.
